Introducing Mist Thermal Sanctuary

Opening Fall 2024 on Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island), the ancestral and unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation. Hidden in a valley of towering conifers and glistening dew, guests can reconnect with nature (and themselves) through private forested saunas and revitalizing hot-cold waters.

Located near Nectar Yoga Retreat in the same forest, Mist Thermal Sanctuary is dedicated to providing the holistic, ancient tradition of sauna and cold plunge, renowned worldwide for its ability to calm the mind and foster spiritual connection.

Guests wishing to extend their contrast therapy session are invited to book a Nectar Experience Package as an optional addition.

Mist Key Features

Relax in one of our three units—Forest, Fern, or Moss—each offering the Mist Contrast Therapy Circuit. Unwind amidst the rising mist, breathe fresh conifer air, and experience the therapeutic cycles of heat, coolness, and relaxation that mirror nature's seasonal rhythms.

Mist Thermal Sanctuary offers 90 MINUTE HOT COLD CIRCUITS consisting of:

a luxurious outdoor hot/cold shower with Mist’s house eucalyptus shower spray
a wood-fire sauna that looks out to the forest
a cold plunge tub
and a beautifully cultivated outdoor rest area with fire

Like the ripple effect of water, Mist is unwavering in its dedication to community and responsibility.

This commitment is evident in various aspects, from our selection and process of building our sauna huts and the use of filtered rainwater from an on-site aquifer to our Monday Community initiative, which offers sliding scale pricing for the Mist Contrast Therapy Circuit to individuals facing financial challenges.

The Story Behind Mist

For those who have been with us throughout our journey at Nectar Yoga Retreat, 2024 marks our 10 year anniversary. We are grateful for your support as we have enjoyed witnessing the reconnective power of nature, yoga, and seasonal living.

Our forest getaway combines tradition with modern comfort, attracting visitors from Metro Vancouver and beyond. We provide overnight stays, wellness retreat experiences, and transformative programs that promote renewal and increased consciousness.

Inspired to expand our mission, we now include hot saunas and cold plunges—also known as the Nordic Cycle—as an extension to yoga. Located next to Nectar Yoga Retreat, Mist Thermal Sanctuary offers a time-honoured tradition of hot and cold therapy.
